FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

With an individual pass, you can check out one or more bikes with your card. We reserve a $35.00 per bike pre-authorization hold for the duration of your ride to ensure that the system is used properly. The pre-authorization release differs depending on your bank.

Summit Bike Share is available to all residents and visitors. Overtime charges apply to all passes because it prompts users to return the e-bikes after they have finished using them.

The e-bikes are for use on paved trails and on roads anywhere in the system area. Please familiarize yourself with the system area by looking at the interactive map in the mobile app or the printed maps at each station.

The secondary lock is located in the basket of the bike. It allows the bike to be locked when a docking station is full and there are no spaces available. It also allows the user to lock the bike outside of a station area when making an intermediate stop. The secondary lock must be secured to a bike rack or similar solid object and is locked on the right side of the wheel. An audio and visual confirmation will be displayed when the bicycle is locked. To remove the secondary lock, the user simply taps their card and removes the lock.

When docking stations are full, you have two options to return your bike: (1) Our technology recognizes when stations are full, and you can use the station kiosk to request free additional time and move to another station. Simply tap your membership card on the kiosk card reader and follow the on-screen steps. You will be given 15 additional minutes at no charge to dock your bike at another station. (2) You can also contact us at (435) 336-7433 to create a virtual space at your current location and dock your bike using the secondary lock. To do this, simply activate the bike’s secondary lock by placing the lock in its slot. The bike screen and sound will indicate that the bike has been locked. When the secondary lock is used in a virtual zone near the station, the bike is considered returned and your rental will end.

No, it is possible to create only one account per mobile app and to unlock one bike per account.
